*Keep up on the latest: Keanu’s Blog
Christmas morning 2016, we had two new additions to the household: Keanu and Malie.
Before Keanu arrived I had the impression she would be our calm, just wants to cuddle kitten.
Christmas morning she did not appear to be that type of kitten. She seemed to be a very shy little one. She just wanted to crawl under and up inside of the furniture. I was starting to fear she would be crushed if someone sat on furniture without knowing she was up inside of it.
She didn’t seem afraid, just shy and content to be off snuggled inside furniture by herself. We could lure her out with food or by making “meow” sounds, but then she would just end up back inside the furniture.
Well just as it was with Malie, first impressions can be wrong. As it turns out even the impression I had before she got here was wrong.
Keanu does have her times where she likes to be cuddled and loved on. She no longer hides up inside the furniture. As it turns out, Keanu is our wild, silly kitten. My daughter says she is her gangster cat and that is why she decided to name her Keanu.
Like I said she is our wild, silly one. She darts around the house playing with her toys or anything she can get her paws on. She is fascinated with my daughter’s long hair. On a few occasions, this fascination has led to my daughter experiencing four sets of claws in her back because Keanu has suddenly decided to pounce and attack her hair. She is very good at the sudden jump and pounce attack when she wants to get to something or wants to climb up something (or someone).
She definitely loves food. Keanu is vocal when she is hungry or if she thinks there is food around. The sounds and growls she can make when she is eating sounds more like they should be coming from some large wild animal, instead of this tiny two and a half pound kitten. We are constantly trying to teach her that she is not allowed on the dining room table.
Keanu is a sweet kitten, but she can also make us laugh at her crazy antics. We never know what she will do next.
